Free Motion Quilting with the Feed Dogs UP? What are you talking about?

One of the most recognized and easiest designs to come up with in quilting is echo quilting.  Not necessarily the easiest to do, but a relatively easy thought process.  By using the Bernina Leather Roller Foot you can achieve the look of perfectly regulated free motion echo quilting stitches without lowering your feed dogs. Hi again everyone. This is a little soon from my last post, however, I couldn't wait to show it to you.

Quilt as you go.

We are often asked at the store for Quilt As You Go classes and patterns.  There are so many ways you can complete Quilt As You Go projects.  This video will give you some ideas for big block quilts that feature different fabrics or some practice free motion stitching pieces.  Now, you always wanted to know what to do with those practice pieces.  Bring them into the store so we can see.  We love Show and Tell.

Free Motion Embroidery

I love stitching with Free Motion, whether it is quilting or embroidery.  I love to 'draw' with my sewing machine.  The Bernina Stitch Regulator has given me the freedom to slow down and be more precise when I am free motion stitching.  Look at different quilts and fiber art pieces to see how the quilter used free motion stitching in their work.  Doodle, doodle, doodle!  Play with a pen and paper to create designs while not lifting your pen or pencil.

When I was with my family on vacation in San Antonio for New Year's I saw some amazing clothing pieces with pintucks, lace and fancy bands.  There were beautiful, but I didn't purchase any as I knew I could create the same look with my Bernina Machine and the right feet.

What's New in 2012

We are so excited about 2012.  There is so much new in the world of 'In the Hoop' Embroidery.  We are going to be offering new block-of-the-month programs including this Earth to Quilters by HoopSisters.  Earth to Quilters will begin as soon as the current block-of-the-month program concludes in March.

Here we are going to keep you up to date on all the happenings in our Bernina Sewing Centre.  Promotions, new feet, new machines, new embroidery ideas etc.  We will also let you know about anything new we have found that we think you might like to try.
